“Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot,
and anyone driving faster than you is a maniac?” – George Carlin
We have had this big rig long enough that I am embarrassed that I don’t know how to drive it like a pro yet. I rely on Bill to do 95% of the driving.
But … now … I am ready to take on my fair share.
To be sure, it is the wise thing to do. Should Bill not be feeling well or get called away at a time that we need to be moving on, I need to be able to take over. Also, I have this road-warrior-woman vision that while Bill is working, I am clocking my own RV miles and having him fly in and join me at our new spot. How much would he love that?!
I have some things going for me and some things going against me. On the plus side, I am a conservative drive. There is no part of me that wants to speed or drive recklessly. I am not out to set a record or amaze and terrify other drivers. I want to ENJOY the journey.
On the not so positive side, I am not particularly adept at judging space.
That’s a BIG con, isn’t it? Yeah. Well. Practice, practice, practice, right?
But I think it’s going to take more than practice. I think I need professional help. – In this case, driving lessons.
I’ve started doing some research and found a few driving school options:
I would love to hear from you. – Have you used any of these options, and if so, how did it go? Or what other options are out there, awesome, and available to me? Thanks in advance for any input!
