Impressions
This park’s visit began with a last minute reservation that led to one of the most beautiful stays we’ve experienced. While the park has very close parking to your neighbor, as it turned out, we got what I would consider to be the best site of any park previously visited. Behind us was close proximity to our neighbors, but out the front door was Hurricane Bay in all its beauty.
Getting to the park was easy enough but you may do a little waiting in traffic. Its the daily beach traffic headed across San Carlos Island to Estero Island. Like Sanibel Island not far way, getting around is easy to do with just a bicycle. Hang a left outside the park and go approximately one mile lands you at the beach. You avoid a lot of traffic with the bicycle approach. And you can physically ride your bike on many parts of the beach as well.
The park amenities were all very clean and the staff quite accommodating. I even needed some assistance with a mechanical task and asked the front office where I could find some tools to rent. They showed up with tools and helped me solve the problem in about 30 minutes.
We don’t know when, but I see a re-visit to this park in our future.
