Comments

In my search for an RV park near Miami Beach, I was reminded that “near” is a relative term. This campground is just over 30 miles from Miami Beach, but time-wise, about an hour away.

This campground is part of a 270-acre county park, and because of those acres, it is a great campground for long walks and bike rides. There is a large lake with a beach area on the “park side”, and then the campground is situated on the other end.

I was happily placed in a spot (Pod 8, Site 2) very near the bathhouse and laundry room, both of which I used quite a bit. And while they were not the most sparkling of facilities, they were good enough by my camping standards.

Groceries and gas are within several miles, but the park itself is located off of a fairly busy road and not in the most picturesque of neighborhoods.

That said, I felt very comfortable and safe in the campground itself, and would stay here again. I saw security patrolling the park on a regular basis, and perhaps felt the biggest threat was from the large number of feral cats. (I love cats, but having my two cats and puppy dog with me, just worried a bit about possible diseases the cats might have.)
