We really enjoyed our extended stay at this park during a couple of the winter months. The amenities are plentiful: a pool; hot tub; sand volleyball court; walking path (though it was under construction during our entire stay); lake fishing; a large, well-kept dog park area; horseshoes; playground; rec hall; etc. They have a pancake breakfast on Saturday mornings, Bingo on Monday nights, and a potluck dinner on Thursdays.
The park’s workers (mainly work-campers) were for the most part very friendly and enjoyable to be around. They kept the park in excellent condition. Plan to be spoiled with their trash service: Just leave your garbage bags near the roadside of your RV, and they’ll swoop it up continually throughout the daylight hours. Such service! Denise runs the front office and is excellent at what she does.
Our cable connection was fuzzy the entire time, but that could have been an issue with our own equipment. (Others said theirs worked fine.) As for the Wi-Fi, it was temperamental at best. – I had to rely on our Verizon hotspot for much of our stay. Cell phone coverage (Verizon) was good.
Disney World is about 20 miles and several tollbooths away. Speaking of tolls, they are plentiful in all directions. We ended up buying the E-PASS transponder in order to make the toll roads a little less annoying and the need for quarters a lot less urgent. There are several restaurants and grocery stores nearby, but for a larger selection, you’re going to need to do some driving. (There is a very nice restaurant just a few miles down Narcoossee – Nona Blue. It’s a bit pricy but worth it and very nearby.) Also just a few miles down the road (near Publix) is Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming. I took our puppy there a couple of times for grooming, and was happy with their work. (Plan ahead though. – They’re not the easiest place to get an appointment.)
