Big Rig Friendly?
I stayed here in our 24′ camper van, but I don’t know that our 42′ motor coach would have fit. If you have a bigger rig, call and ask if they’ll have a spot for you. (And keep in mind that you’ll be driving on narrow, winding roads to get into the campground.)
Access
This was not the easiest campground to get to from the main road. Bill called ahead and got turn-by-turn instructions from the campground host, which were easy to follow. It may be easier to just put the lat/long into your GPS system.
Comments
I was here for just one night, but it seemed like a very nice place to spend a quiet few days out in nature, especially if you enjoy lake activities, or just staring at the water, which is one of my particular talents.
The campground host was very kind and welcoming, giving me several sites to choose from. And though this campground requires some twists and turns to arrive at, I think it was only about 10 minutes from the main road I was on as I was heading north to Iowa.
This is not the type of campground you would want to visit if you’re looking for a lot of excitement and activities. There is no wi-fi, no cable TV. But it is quiet, along the lake, and tree-filled. My only real complaint was that the campground just has the one bathhouse, and its location may not be all that convenient depending on which spot you are in.
