Big Rig Friendly?
Located on Lake Superior, this is a conveniently located campground for taking boat tours of Pictured Rocks (less than 4 miles away from the dock).
My personal experience with this park wasn’t the best, but it looked like plenty of others were enjoying their RVs and tents along the lake.
I was in Site 60, which had an electric stand comically far, far away from the actual parking spot. It was only comic (rather than infuriating) because a very kind next-door neighbor lent me a long extension cord to make the stay do-able.
The showers looked a lot better than at most campgrounds in that each shower is its own tiny room, rather than stalls in the bathroom. (I didn’t actually use their showers, preferring to do my yoga-esque shower in the camper van, but I was tempted.)
Again, if I had a site along the water, or at least didn’t need a 50-foot extension cord to get electric, I might have felt more positively about my stay. What about you? Have you stayed here? If not, where did you stay when touring the Pictured Rocks area?
