First off, this is a perfectly maintained campground. You can tell that those in charge take great pride in this park! And they are not going to let you mess it up. So do not even think about parking in that grass – or even “over” the grass.
The location is also pretty perfect. Within the park itself, it is quiet and picturesque, and yet you are just a few miles away from stores and restaurants. The Minnesota Zoo is a short bike ride away, and downtown Minneapolis is about 20 miles north.
The only thing I did not enjoy about staying here was the weak Wi-Fi and Verizon. I like to stay connected, especially when traveling alone. I was located in the RV spot nearest to the office, and yet the Wi-Fi was unusable. I usually don’t mind that since I can use my phone as a hotspot, but the Verizon coverage was also extremely weak in this park so my phone wasn’t much help either.
In 2017, this campground is open from May 3 to October 21. It is probably wise to reserve as soon as you can. (I squeezed into the last available spot they had for the weekend that I was there!) Also, note that there is an $8.00 online reservation fee.
