This is a very popular campground! You will want to book well in advance if you plan on visiting during the summer months, especially over weekends. That said, its charm, for the most part, eluded us.
It is nicely treed, which we liked, with lots of shaded areas. But it also can be quite muddy when rain passes through, and between that mud and the pot-holes, the overall aesthetic of the park can come across as a bit rundown and neglected. But that was our opinion. We talked to many people who come here year after year, and they love it. If you have children, the pool and very large playground is a plus, as well as the park’s proximity to area attractions like King’s Island and The Beach Waterpark.
As for me, what I enjoyed most about the park was its close proximity to the charming, historic downtown Lebanon, Ohio. It is an easy one-mile walk or drive away from the park’s entrance. A walk up and down Broadway provides many shops, a couple of ice cream parlors, and several restaurants, including the wonderful Golden Lamb. Kroger and Walmart are a less than 4-mile drive. This is a conveniently-located campground. You are close to nearly everything you’ll need or want, while still having the wooded, relatively quiet atmosphere while you’re in the campground itself.
