Comments
We have been trying to get into this campground for a couple of years (we have family in the Cincinnati area), but their spots for big rigs is somewhat limited and seem to book up quickly. And it is not a campground that you can just plop yourself down in for a month or two. It has a limit of 14-days in a 30-day period.
So when the time came for my first solo trip in our new Camper Van, I knew exactly where I wanted to go! Because I was going early in the camping season, just for a night, and during the week nonetheless, it was easy, breezy to book a night in this campground.
I was not disappointed!
Winton Woods is a county park in Cincinnati, Ohio. So the campground looks like it was carved out of those woods. No flowers or color, other than green — lots of green from old pine trees. It is surrounded on a few sides by Winton Lake, so bring your canoe or kayak if you would like some time in the water.
Its location is ideal for touring the Cincinnati area. And though the campground itself is nestled in nature, you are but a few miles away from groceries and restaurants, and only about 15 miles from downtown Cincinnati.
The Wi-Fi was very weak, so if you need to be connected, then use your hotspot. But as for the water, sewer, and electric, you are good to go with excellent connections. I was on a nice level, concrete spot next to the bath house. The bath house itself was not up to 5-star standards, but it is a county park, and relatively speaking, perfectly acceptable.
We definitely recommend this campground and would love to hear your experiences staying there. So leave us a comment!
